Quick Exhaust Gasket Question
1995 Honda Accord Ex VTEC Coupe
Hey Everyone,
I had a new used JDM engine put in about a year ago. I took of the heat shield today to check the exhaust manifold and this is what i saw. Is this gap normal????!! And if they put the wrong gasket (maybe for the non-VTEC) how should I go about replacing it.
Thanks for any advice

The "gap" I see is not the exhaust ports. Looks normal. Why would you take the heat shield off? It is there for a reason. #1 to cover up the ugly rusty cast iron exhaust manifold. #2 keep underhood temperatures at bay #3 Keeps a dummy from touching it.
I took the cover off to check the seal because I had been smelling exhaust fumes as of recently. Then I also seafoamed the car about a week ago (using the spray not the pour method) and I saw a nice cloud of white smoke coming from the exhaust mani somewhere so I wanted to take a look at that.
Any ideas to check where the leak is coming from?
