Default best mpg head?

i am thinking my head needs to be replaced as i have started to burn more oil bottom end was gone threw not long ago when my buddy had the car.

At the moment my ef (91 std 4 speed btw) is getting around 33-36 mpg in town with my driving. i would love to increase that.

It is dpfi and i do not want to swap it to mpfi i will be replacing some leaking seals also at that time along with a noisy throw out bearing i dont want to get really crazy or expensive i have a dsm that i have to keep running too and thats a job in its self for just a weekend nice weather car

D15B6 head... Good luck finding one. You are better off just repairing what you have... If you are burning oil and you say the rings are good it's probably valve stem seals or worn valve guides.

well if i do find one would there be a problem with me not running mpfi? from what i have read you pick up around 20 mpg going from these two but i think it also has to do with the tranny too.

i know some honda hoarders around here so i might be able to pull one out of the air

There is WAY more to it than just that... Stripped down interior/options, aluminum rear drums, smaller wheel bearings, EGR, lean tune, ect, ect... You asked a specific question and I gave a specific answer. I feel the you have a lot of research to do OR just fix what you have.
