You can do anything to a D-series engine that you can to a B-series engine, or any other engine for that matter short of a rotory. If it were a B-series then what would be your next step?

DOHC ZC's are a great motor, they also love boost if built and tuned right. They have almost the exact same power as a B18a1. I dont know why you're hatin' on a dual cam ZC because there's just as much you can do to it and power to get out of it as a regular B18. It's all on what YOU wanna do OP. You can listen to the haters or be your own and build the ZC. They are getting harder to find these days but aftermarket parts are still around, you just have to do alittle more searching than looking for a B series. I love my DOHC ZC, it's no GSR or boosted B16 but you can buy a DOHC ZC for less than half the price and use the rest to build it. Hell you can do a cheap stroker kit by getting the internal bottom end of a D17 with little modifications and I've read that it's a awesome set up. Again, it's all in what you want OP. 11 - 12 dec. car is kind of vague as far as a build goes. What's your HP goal, street/strip or just street? You say you wanna go with the turbo route right?

Do a lot of googling for the DOHC ZC....see what other people have and what they did to mod it and since you wanna go turbo down the road read up on people with turbo set ups. D-series.org is a big place for DOHC ZC's. There's people with a stock motor that just threw a turbo on it (tuned and modded right) putting down 200+.....there's a guy on D series that has spool starting at 2500 (if I remember correctly) and full boost around 3800 - 4800. Basically my point is to do a little searching about the direction you wanna go with that ZC motor if you're interested in keeping it. Not trying to sound like your mom or anything bruh......just letting you know what's out there.
