Engine cooling fax
2011 Crosstour.
Engine fan stays on for a good 5 minutes after shutting ignition even if engine is cold.
That is, car in garage over night. Start up, back out of garage, shut down and engine fan is running.
Anyone have any input on this. Car is only 11 months olds, 13k miles. Dealer service has not any info on this poblem in past.

Let me take a shot at this question. My earlier van was a Dodge Caravan and I remember some folks on that forum experiencing this phenomenon. When you shut off the engine, the engine is still hot and the coolant is at a high temperature and in many cases the fluid overflows. I am assuming the fan may be progamed to run for some time to cool the coolant. Now I am not as experienced as many of the members on this board and so I would see what others say.
PS I have not seen this happen on my 07 accord and I live in Florida.
