Injen SRI help
does anyone have a video or a link to an install video for injen sri in an 09 si.. i looked at my instructions havent started yet.. the only part im confused about is the hose you ahve to put on.. the black and white instructions show it, but it just seems a little confusing on which hose it is to me and which one dumps out coolant.. im doing it after im off work today so im hoping someone can help me out...
your kindness would be greatly appreciated :D
p.s. even posting a couple pics on here will be helpful. its mostly just the hose im not sure about.. pictures showing the hose clearly and where it connects/disconnects would be great

All you're doing is re-routing/replacing the stock hoses/metal piping that connected to your stock intake box to somewhere on the new intake pipe.
Just go by the instructions; they're usually pretty thorough.

like i said.. i have the instructions the pictures are just black and white and upclose.. i cant tell which inlet/outlet the hose goes to in the pics injen sent.. it says you lose some coolant i dont wanna pop off the hose and sit there with the coolant running out while i try and figure out which ones which..
Look at where the hose/pipe goes to; inspect the inlet/outlet of it. If it goes to a black looking pipe on the block on one end and on the other end connects to your Throttle Body (TB), that's coolant. Don't let the pipe confuse you, it'll be replaced with the supplied coolant hose. And, there's an inlet/outlet for the TB coolant lines that are connected (the x shaped pipe that the picture probably shows). The OEM lines need to be relocated because they are in the way when mounting up the new intake.
Here's a picture of what you'll be removing:

#5 and #4 connect to that metal hose router. If I recall correctly, you will be removing all of that all the way to the outlet/inlet of the coolant on the block and replacing with the supplied coolant lines.
The only hose that will run to your actual intake pipe is the 5/8 outlet from the valve cover.
Keep in mind, I'm just going off of my memory here; I did my SRI about 3.5 years ago, lol. But from messing with the S/C and taking off my Fujita, I can kind of picture where it's at; plus that pic should help.

so #5 is basically the hose they gave me? and it goes from the throttle body to the block? defeinitely helped thats forsure.. i just didnt wanna take off the wrong hose.. the pics injen send you arent great quality..
It might be #4. Just follow both hoses, they should both go from somewhere on the block and then back. They just serve to heat up the TB by passing coolant to it and then returning it to the block.
On my install, I know I removed that B-17-31 x pipe entirely. Either way, just understand that you're just clearing some room by re-routing coolant lines. If you look at your engine bay and follow where each coolant line is routed (starting from the TB), it should make more sense.

nope didnt disconnect the battery or anything.. do you just d/c the negative battery cable and put it back on for that or does it take alot more then me doing it myself
That's all I ever did.
Disconnect the negative cable.
Wait a few minutes.
Re-connect it.
Start car with everything off.
Let it idle for a few minutes (I'm not sure exactly, 5-10 sounds about right).
Drive it around lightly for 20 minutes or so.
I'm not sure if this is exactly correct, but it worked for me before.
