Crx under-carriage damage from a business parking lot help?
I hit a gas station water prevention cover (was Higher than most at a circle K store)Well this Monstrous thing destroyed my WHOLE under carriage and threw my bar that hold the engine up thing??( sorry don't know its proper name)back about 3-6 INCHES also Bending my control arm and knocking out my oil pan along with breaking a front engine transmission mount!!Mind you I was driving a normal speed of 3-5 miles anhour through this tiny parking lot/gas station, with my car being a stock crx not lowered standard tires for it.Thankfully my father is a mechanic so I can replace the parts not sure about the strut engine harness thing?bar?Or how far if i can bend it back into place it sounds like something is rubbing bad!!!
Rather than me footing all the bill from this obviously not well taken care of parking lot in Florida.Has anyone ha any experience like mine where they were able to get back the money they had to shell out for the damage of their car from the place of business?I could maybe claim it on my acceptance insurance but don't see y it cost more in deductibles than to just eat the cost

I've had my Crx for 10 years.I love my ride and will have it up n running with or with out the business paying any to help.I just feel its only right since it is part their blame with their horrible parking lot in all.

Horrible noise?/rubbing/shaking? Can anyone see why it is making a rubbing sound when I slow down or hit the breaks?Because of bent control arm maybe?

If you really bent the lower control arm, you should replace it. The crossmember looks shot too. Either one will throw off your alignment and cause problems. Also possible your lower ball joints are bad now. A shop that can do alignments should be able to tell you.
Try to speak to the owner. Threaten to take them to court. Hopefully that would shake them up a bit and they will just cut you a check because his time is probably worth more then the 500-1000 check he'd cut you rather then waste his time in court.
If he says, see you in court, well then good luck because the ammount of money and time you waste for court would probably exceed the amount of the repairs.
Doesn't hurt to try, go for it, threaten to sue, if not then just eat the cost.

Then again if you go through insurance or a body shop, those repairs would probably run you thousands and your car would get total'd out.
Not too expensive the crossmember will cost around $80 the controlled arm $40 ...been through the same thing ..let a buddy borrow my car just to run to the store reql quick and get a call 15 mins later sayin my car was ****ed...

I know this isn't great news, but since it wasn't their decision for you to drive onto the business property and even more so because it was your choice to, they probably would never be found at fault. I would say if a large majority had the same problem with hitting the obstruction, you may have a shot just going after them in numbers, but since the majority probably hasn't, it just points more to you making the choice to drive over it. Trust me, I've had similar issues with a lowered car but because it was my choice to drive where I drove, I found out my odds were not good. Then you have insurance which will just total out your car and offer you about 1600, leaving you with a salvaged title, I generally choose not to report it either and just spend the deductible on the parts and fix it myself. Just DO IT RIGHT the first time, NO SHORTCUTS, and the car should be good or better than it was.
Thanks for fixing it and not just scrapping it, I love the CRX.

If you moved parts back as far as you say you did than the rubbing is possibly coming from the wheel against the rear of the wheel well.
Go to a junk yard and buy the parts you need and have your father help you install them it will be much cheaper that way and you wont have to worry about your car being totalled by insurance or salvage titles or anything like that.

You might want to check your lower control arm brackets. If they're bent, your wheels won't be aligned properly. A friend of mine hit a curb and bent the bracket. The control arm wasn't the issue. Hopefully yours aren't bent!
