jdm front end on usdm ef
so im stuck with hooking up my headlights cause on the jdm headlights theres only one bulb an h4 bulb i think it is. on the usdm set up there is a high beam bulb and a low beam. im curious to see how you guys converted it to the h4 set up??
What do you mean? You get a pigtail, splice the wires, and plug it in. High to High - Low to Low; It's really that simple.
Since I am sure you will ask: The H4 bulb only needs one of the grounds obviously (and they all go to the same spot anyways, grounding to the fender apron bulkhead).

Alot of people mistakenly just splice wires together.
THIS would be incorrect.
JDM bulbs uses a single, dual filament in a single bulb. How it works is that when low beam is on. You turn on the high beams and as u turn it on. low beams cut off.
Our USDM models have two single filament bulbs. When low beams are on, u can turn on high beams while low beams are still on.
I have just spliced high, low and ground wire together directly. yes it works but this way puts the H4h bulb in a dangerously hot situation. If you hardly use the high beams then you wont notice this problem. But once you do then its lights out for you and you cant see squat.
/discuss.
Anyways, i made a harness to connect my 9006 -> H4. in between it i added a relay so that it would work like a H4. (turn off low beam when high beams are used)

You will need to wire in a relay. I did mine this way.
On 92-00 civics From factory when low beams are on, and you flash your high beams the lows turn off
Like stated earlier, they will run hotter than normal when you turn on your highs as both filaments are going at the same time
I make these n sell them as well

Not exactly. I always convert mine this way on my GM vehicels and NEVER have a problem. I fully understand how both electrical systems work. I see you come out of the wood-works to talk trash? Interesting... If a relay is wanted to filter the low side off on the system then so be it; The bulbs life may be reduced by not doing it but it can be done as was already stated.
Reading "PWNS" you.
