Go H22. Easy swap and has tons of aftermarket support.

Boost your F23 and forget about the overpriced/overrated H22. A boosted F23 would be so much more fun.

There are actually a few F23 build threads with a few cheap parts swaps making 190whp 165 tq. That's with OEM K20 pistons an aftermarket cam and a tune. And this particular build could still be touched up a wee bit too. Probably push it into the 200+whp range with a few more bucks. Stock $1600+ H22 swap would put you in the 170-180whp range.

Question is, Why do you want DOHC?

I can do a Euro-R swap for the cost of FI. Piecing togheter a turbokit is far from cheap

You also live in Holland, Home of the Euro-R. The OP lives in Canada and would need to buy said Euro R swap from an engine importer. They usually run around $1800+ for a long block and $3300 for a complete swap, + shipping. Also you should add the price for miscellaneous tune up parts. Obviously no labour, if the OP plans to do it himself of course.

Approx. $2500 - $4000 I have seen some good strong boosted builds with that kind of cash. Just saying

The Euro R would be a really fun motor for sure though

Ok thats true, but 2500 is impossible to build a F22 turbo over here thats why i mention the h22a7. If you want to boost here and you buy everything from a shop, turbokit clutch injectors you be around 4500-5000 dollars ex motor and labour. Btw nice build you have going on stroked f22 itb build is not for the faint-hearted.

The Euro Type R can be built to be as good as an actual B18C5 with more TQ. It's, in my opinion, is the best motor Honda made back then.

H22a7 is a great engine, but almost every honda engine is. :D B18c5 is a lil bit price over-rated here in holland 3500+ Euro,s for a complete swap is to much in my opinion.
It is easier to just swap a H22a or a H23a bluetop, but i dont know if your are mechanically inclined swapping a engine is much easier than build one.

You can make a F23 DOHC with a H22X head its called G23 just search and you find a couple topics.
