1999 civic ex coupe-manual transmission-popping out of second gear??
Hi-I have a 1999 Honda Civic ex coupe-I've been noticing that the manual trans. will pop out of second gear sometimes shifting from first to second.I just had a new clutch installed last week and thought that would have taken care of it.Other than that the car drives great and shifts normally into all other gears,it's only second gear that is the issue.Does anyone know what might be causing this, and roughly what the cost might be to have it repaired?
Any info. would be greatly appreciated.thanks

Clutch swaps usually dont repair issues like that.
I would try changing out the fluid with Honda MTF and hope for the best. If that doesnt work just purchase another rather than getting it repaired.

from what it sounds like, you need a new transmission. i think it'll probably be cheaper to get new one rather than fix it.
Bottom countershaft bearing walked out of the case. You need to split the case, tap the bearing back down and stake it there with a center punch. You might want to replace the input shaft bearing and seal while you're in there.
