Default b16 running rich

Hi all, I have a 93 Coupe with a 99' b16a2 swap running a Erick's Racing chipped P30. It runs very rich. I recently purchased the car as a daily driver and love it. What would be my best option for getting better gas mileage? Would I be better off with a P2T? I also need it to run clean for smog purposes.

Thanks.

Run a Stock MAP or get a tune if the ECU is the issue. But check around the engine. Dirty air filter?

Get a better MAP. Call Phearable and get a new chip.

Cheaper if your ecu has a removable chip

Please be quiet. If it's chipped then it HAS to be socketted to do it. That means that the chips are swappable.

I run a P72 ecu on my b16a and it runs just fine and gets great gas mileage. Picked it up for only 60$.

You guys are awesome, thanks for the great suggestions.

@ Lil Gnome, I have a AEM Intake with the conical filter. I will clean it, as I inherited some unknowns.

@grumblemarc, By 'MAP' are you referring to the sensor or the ecu's base map? Im new to playing with ecus, although I have been in the computer field for a long time and have built a jillion servers, desktops... Does rechipping require a great amount of expertise to do?

Thanks Again.

MAP in this case means the ECUs operating system.
If you can hold a butter knife you can swap a chip.

Im going to call on Monday to Erick's Racing and see if they can reprogram the chip. If that proves unfruitful I will order a chip from Phearable. I have a feeling I am sitting in Open Loop all the time. 17-22mpg for a lil Ej is as bad as my 05 Maxima on gas.

I got a new chip from Monotech, he is a member on the Forum. I instantly have gone from horrible mileage to good mileage. My car doesnt smell like an open gas can anymore. I did a few pulls last night and am very happy with the tune. I love the cel shift light. Big props to Mono!
