oooh, im getting the carpet too ? thats good to know lol . i was thinkin i had to buy it . and thanks !

i have a choice between these 2 motors, my only concern is if the y8 would pass smog .
D16y7 - missing ecu, primary O2 and dizzy . $450 obo
D16y8 - missing nothing, complete w/ headers and intake too . $650

prices seem high on both swaps....

y8 came stock in ek 96-00 ex and 96-98 si the y7 came as the base engine from 96-00

should be no problem passing a stock y-series i dont know the laws regarding swaps to a different trim level engine from the same gen civic

i'd go with the y8 personally, your gonna spend 200 on the dizzy n ecu forthe y7 and the y8 is about 20hp more

im guna try to talk him down to 550 or 600.
well, i started up another thread in the 92-00 civics and i guess the y8 would pass. but i would probably have to throw a y7 header on there since the cat and header are combined and there are 2 O2 sensors on it for some reason.

good luck but a word of advice from me to you is don't do the rhd conversion yourself
not to sound like an *** but if you didn't know about the whole "auto" to "standard" convo. then you have no business doing a rhd firewall swap....instead have a shop do it for you .....its only for your safety as well as others on the road if the welds on the firewall were to fail for some odd reason .....well lets just say that would be tragic ........

just because i didn't know about that doesn't mean much. not everyone knows how to do an auto to standard conversion . i took a welding class during school, i can arc, mig, and oxyacetylene graze just fine . on top of that, I'm on a budget so i cant really waste my time buying an automatic clip. i didn't really want a reg ek, i'd be better off with the ek4 or ek9 clip anyway :D

i admire your db8, its sexy as **** ! lol
