07 Si brake swap ?
Has anyone swapped a set of TL Type S 4 piston calipers on to a 06+ Civic Si? If you have was it a straight swap or did it require some mods? Thanks in advance to anyone that responds.
I think you need a set of S2000 front rotors, and I think the lower mounting tab needs drilled out so it will fit, there are several ppl on the 8th that have done it. I just met a guy a few weeks ago that did it. The only other thing he needed to do was 15mm spacers for wheel clearance
wouldn't it be better to run aftermarket? i'm rocking stop tech slotted up front, with stoptech pads. Brembo blanks in the rear with stoptech rears and it's great for breaking. at a fraction of the price. Vs S2k or TL
So I have been doing some research on other forums and its seems that the only things you need to do this swap are S2K front rotors and a pair of brembo calipers. I am planning on picking up a set of calipers this weekend and I'll post additional info as I proceed with the swap. Thanks for the info everyone.
I think you guys are mixing up the DC5R Brembos and the TL-S Brembos.
For the DC5R, you need S2000 rotors.
For the TL-S, you need to enlarge the bolt holes on the knuckle that you bolt the calipers to. I believe stock is 14mm, while the calipers have 17mm bolt holes. You also need to add a spacer (I've seen people say 7mm) behind the TL-S rotor for it to fit.

Thanks for pointing that out. You are correct I was confusing the two.
Now I have a new question which is the better swap DC5R (if you can get them) or TL Type S? Or here is a third option I have been wondering about, can you swap EVO brembo front calipers on a 06+ si?

With the TL Type S you have a bigger rotor (320mm) and pad. Pads are also interchangeable with Lancer Evo Brembos and a few other cars (I can't remember which other ones).
The S2000 rotor is the same size as stock Si/RSX-S (300mm x 25mm). Also, I'm not sure if you'll have full rotor contact with the pads on this setup. I seem to recall hearing that somewhere.
Hands down I'd take the TL-S setup over the DC5R; just realize that once you drill out the caliper mounting holes, you can't shrink them back to OEM size easily if you were to get rid of your car.

Take a look here: http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/suspe...ap-08-fg2.html. The guy had trouble fitting the TL-S brakes with the OEM wheels + 25mm spacers!
So, you definitely will run into clearance issues with these brakes.
