I've decided this is the wheel I'd like. I've seen past sales of -one- on a variety of sites (all selling the same wheel). Is it worth my time to look out for one or should I focus on something potentially less rare?

 

It's alright, it was an optional wheel back in the day...the choice is yours.

I went through the same thing as you about 5 years ago and picked up an optional Mugen steering wheel for EF models which i think is more rare. I got a deal on it shipped from Japan for about $185

 

Did you pick it up on Ebay?

I've been browsing for the last couple weeks but haven't come across anything out of the ordinary.
