Injector nipple missing. Is that an issue?
I have a generic question of sorts. I have injectors and on top of the injectors you have that little gold nipple thing. On 4 of the injectors it has the nipple but the other two injectors don't have the nipple (flat on the top). Is that an issue? I ohm'd all fo them and they are good but should they have the nipple thing up top?
Fuel rail end or manifold end?
The manifold end (bottom) has a plastic shroud on it. IMO you could probably go without. On the fuel rail end (top) there is a fuel filter basket. I wouldn't run an injector without the filter basket.
I'm sure there are people who will say go ahead, run it without. The fuel system is already double filtered...... However, I take the safe side on this topic and would find new filters.

Wait, I didn't understand what you just said but I will try to decipher it.
I'm referring to the top of the injector so you're saying that the top nipple that's missing isn't recommended to be without?
When you say filters are you referring to the little rubber washer thingy that goes on the bracket that screws down on top of the injector?
Now I know you guys will get mad/flame me but this is for my Nissan 300zx. I still own my Accord so I'm not a traitor. I just can't get an answer and know there are a lot of smart people on this forum.
Sorry and don't flame me so hard.

Nissan eh!
Well that could be why you are confused.......
If I'm not mistaken some of the the Nissan 300 fuel injectors are double side feed and the older ones are top feed. If your not sure what ones you have.Your Honda injectors are top feed style injectors.
What style injector are you dealing with here top or side feed?
Sorry I don't own a Nissan nor have I ever worked on the fuel injectors. so I'm not sure that I can give you any advice on what it is that you are questioning.
Do you have any pictures of said missing parts?

Side feed injectors...sorry I have never dealt with them...... I've worked on many cars but never one with double side feed injectors.
Just from looking at them I would say you would be OK to run them without. As it doesn't seem to be in contact with fuel.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help...
Maybe someone else can chime in here!

Hey Ghost I appreciate you in trying to help even though I'm talking about my Nissan. Nobody in the forums seem know how (Nissan) so I figured I'd ask here and maybe someone might be familiar.
I'm working on rebuilding the engine and ran into that.
