2000 honda Accord V6 ?
2000 Honda Accord V6 234,000 miles on it.
about 6 months ago my wife's car would spudder at crank up. Mostly would die but patting the gas with foot on the break, get it in D and take off. good to go. Runs like a top. This problem would come and go. CEL light comes on and the codes were P0301, P0303, P0305 and P0306. Misfire. We had the EGR port cleaned/bored. Problem would still happen at times.
Next we had the main power relay changed and fuel pressure tested great. The car didn't act up for a couple of months. New problem showed. The car would turn over normally but would not crank (like it had no fuel). Let sit sometimes 5-10-15 min and would crank and run fine. No codes. this went on for 2-3 months, happened about 4 times.
Last Friday the original problem started again (needing to pat the gas and foot on break to get it in D and go) and the CEL light came on. Checked codes again and they were the same as above. Mechanic says they looked on some site on the web that they have access to and found 5 2000 HA's with the same exact problems. They said a new computer corrected the problem and reccomended I take it to the dealership to have a new one pput in.
Like most I can't afford to just change parts and hope one of the corrects the problem. I have searched the web over and over finding some similar problems listed but not a fix to any of them. I also have not seen mention of a new computer needed.
Please help me figure out what is wrong if you can and THANKS!
