Default Need quiet muffler suggestion since I can't have stock muffler in good cond. for eg

I have a eg hatch that is intentionally stock as it's my DD. The midpipe rusted off about 6 months ago so I had to buy an annoying fartcan catback locally. I hate this car being loud and want to get a different muffler so I can cut the axleback and weld it on.

I don't plan on selling this car for a long time as it gets 2x the mpg as my subie and have a k20 swap plan once I graduate grad school so I may as well weld on a high flow muffler. Anyone do anything similar to this that fit well?

Cliffs: Just looking for muffler suggestions that fit an aftermarket catback and are quiet.

I went with the Yonaka knock off of the Apexi WSII. Vendor on here sells them( where I bought mine) but found on ebay cheaper!!

Thanks, I'm going to look up a couple of these. I want a stock look.

EG's seem to have barely any space for mufflers. Any OEM mufflers fit well? s2000, rsx-s, si, etc?

I used one from a civic coupe on my hatch, just needed to trim the tip down so it doesn't stick out past the bumper.

That's actually what I had too. Everything is rusted here in the midwest though. Also I'm looking for something with a better inlet since my catback is probably 2.5"

Look into some thrush mufflers too. theyre cheaper than flowmasters and sound almost as good, and they look pretty close to stock.

Thrush Turbo muffler. As close to OEM as you can get without spending a metric buttload of cash.
