Which Tires (Road, DD)
Yall mightve seen these types of threads come along for quite a couple of times.. ;P
But since i live in a country with some weird *** weather (the netherlands)
i'd like to know what kind of a tire i should go with?
1 that would perform well on dry surface and aswell as provide grip during rainy days
I've been thinking about Toyo Proxes R888's, but i assume they wont provide enough grip when its raining... (But yeah im still a newbie haha)
Sidenote; 205/50/16 = the right tire size to go for or 205/45/16? xD 98' ej/ek hatch
thanks once again

The R888's are an R-compound tire, and won't yield very good rain traction at all. You're much better off with a High Performance Summer Tire.
As for your tire size, the 205/45/16 would be the better choice, of the two.

I run 225/45/17 Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires and have loved them. DWS is Dry Wet Snow. The wet weather traction is simply amazing. tread life has been great as well. I plan on getting the same tires when these need replacing. link to Conti DWS
Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs have been rather good to me in the environment you're referring to. But, they're not offered in the tire size you're looking for. Dunlop DZ101's and BFGoodrich g-Force T-A KDW NT's are pretty nice, but they lack in either aggressive design for grip or rain performance. Yokohama S.Drive's would be a decent choice for your application.
Ahh ok sweet, any idea what they may cost? =P
Eey guys, i just been researching up on tire prices and reviews of the Yokohama S.drives, and they were quite expensive $144 =P But i came across this website with loads of tires, which prices and reviews included
So i searched up on my tire size (205/45R16) and it showed all the tires for my size, and there was 1 outstander between all tires, with 240 reviews, and high rating (4.5 rating, while max is 5).. It costs an fair $96..
Tire; Falken Ziex ZE-912
So now i am wondering anyone else has something to say about them? or xD They got my attention..
greetings

grip is decent, road noise is low, and tread wear is ok. it sucks in snow though if you get any where you're at. the good thing is, they're cheap tires which offer good 'bang-for-the-buck'.
if you want great grip in wet or dry in warmer temps, consider the Dunlop Starspec as mentioned above, or the Bridgestone RE11.
the S-drive was the replacement for the old Yokohama ES-100 which was a decent summer tire for the price. i don't have any experience with the S-drive though so i can't comment.
I love my Yokohama S. Drives, great dry/wet traction but leave more to be desired when pushing them to the limit in autocross.
My BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 just arrived at my tire connection's shop:

They're supposed to have great dry and wet traction according to tire rack and all the reviews i've read.
The real compromise though is tire noise. I figure my little econobox is already noisy, and my new engine/suspension are really going to be demanding better grip this autocross season.
I'll update once I get them on next Saturday (3/10)

I am about to pick up a set of S- Drives due to all the good things I have heard about them for a DD.
I loved my BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 when I had my G35 but they wore quickly for a DD, hence why I am trying S-Drives.
I currently have BF Goodrich on all my cars and SUV at this time and am very pleased.

Like mashi said, the falken 912 is a decent tire for the price but,is lacking in wet and dry performance.they're considered all season but, suck in snow.
I agree the BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW handles very well in rainy situations. If you have the time to look and shop for tires do your research and find the right set of tires that fit your vehicles needs. For dry and wet climates I would look into all season tires. There are just too many tires out there that are use for different situations. If I was you take the time to do your research on different types of tires and how they perform to certain climates.
Hope this helps! Happy Tuning!

I owned a set on my '98 Civic coupel they came on the wheels I bought (which eventually were stolen off of my vehicle). Terrible tire; I think they were made out of recycled bowling ***** they were so hard. In all honesty, they were terrible in the wet, not great in the dry, and were an all-around cheap Chinese tire. Not recommended at all.
