I recently had my passenger side car window bust open and my alarm never sounded. Also I tested it by locking the doors with the remote then manually unlocking them from the inside of the car which I know will set off the alarm and for some reason the alarm still did not sound. I tested the panic button earlier today and it works properly however none of the things that are supposed to set off the anti theft alarm will work. What could be the problem?

I haven't had any work done on the car in a while except having a side panel replace a while back and I remember they had to unhook the battery for that however I haven't installed any aftermarket parts on the vehicle and the alarm system is still the factory version too.

Any advice before I take it to the dealership and empty my wallet would be appreciated.
