Default Question re OBDO fault code

Have an 89 EF with B16 swap for track racing. I changed out the alternator for a smaller, lighter one from a ????. Custom made mounts & pulleys. It is a one wire alt & works fine but I now have Engine light on & ECU flashes 9 times. Are these related or have I screwed something else up? Is this a problem ?Will this affect engine operation? Help please Thanks

Default Re: Question re OBDO fault code

code 9 is for the timing....either the sensor is bad or your timing is off somehow....whether it be broken belt or skipped a tooth.
