my 98 civic ex went into limp mode im still learning just got into da honda game my first honda i own can anyone help me with this my rpm is stuck at 3500 wont go any higher does anybody know how i can get the codes or refer me to a shop or anyone where i can go to to get rid of limp mode...thanks

simple research and time would fix this issue, even for a noob.. I just typed in

"civic wont go past 3k" on google and boom...

if u wanna get out of limp mode unplug the battery for a few seconds should reset the ecu

 

happened to me.. it was my map sensor, well it was the pins on my ecu plugs that went to my map.. it would redline at 3.5k couldnt rev any higher.. if i downshifted as soon as i hit 3.5k it was like it redlined..

 

always a map issue. check pins and continuity... people that do swaps ofter mix up the MAP ans TPS sensor... had me stumped the very first time i came across this issue.

 

well i just found out my b20b has a pr4 obd1 ecu conversion idk if i might need to get the correct one which is a obd2 ecu with harness or if any1 is in the area and is willin to help me let me kno...im just new to the honda game still trying to learn as much possible 1st honda owned and honestly im so confused
