What are some good racing harnesses for an integra sedan with stock seats?

 

IS this for Autocross or Track events and do you have a Rollbar??

 

roll bar first, then a set of SFI approved belts. Simpson, Sparco, Autopower, Scroth, etc... camlocks are better IMO.

It will be mainly for autoX and I don't have a roll bar. I just want to be snug in the seat.

 

For Autocross, I would recommend the Schroth 3 or 4 pt Harness. A 3 inch wide 5 or 6 pt racing harness is probably overkill for autocross, not too mention quite a bit more expensive.

 

I've seen several folks using the Schroth harness for auto-x, and they seem to like it.

i see no reason to use Takata in the states. there MUST be something cheaper.
i was woundering are Sabelts any good?

 

Simpson and Sabelt are some of the cheapest pricewise I have seen.

 

i just bout a set of simpson camlock belts for my car. Total cost was $353 out the door (for two pairs of 5-point belts and mounting hardware). I could have spent more on schroth belts (@ $250/ea) but i didnt see the need to....

The Sabelt Top formula B goes for appx $250 i think. so i guess thats not a bad choice. cool thread

 

I picked up my RCI 5-pt latch-style for 60 bux! wish I woulda sprung for the camlock though, much easier to use

 

latch-links are a pain in the ***...... IMO.

 

Could it also be a saftey issue? from what i see the cam-locks release everything right away, letting the driver to leave the car faster then the other types of locking device.

 

Latch links release instantly, too. It's when you put them on that it's more of a pain in the butt. Some people like it, some don't. There has also been stories of certain cam-lock styles releasing unintentionally when a sleeve or something has caught on the lever. I personally went with camlock and tried them out for the first time this evening on my way home.

 

without a rollbar you know the danger your putting yourself in right?

AutoPower seems to be a great deal also
5 point cam harnesses for $150 each from ioport.
The cam release is by turning the buckle, which would be harder to accidentally release than one of the levers


G-force belts are about the same price ~$160 each i think.

 

please...don't open this can of worms...as stated in one of his earlier posts the harness is for autoX, he wants to be firmer in his seat. we all know the inherent dangers of driving a car on track harnessed in w/o a roll bar/cage.....I myself run a harness for autoX, just for autoX, i don't wear it on the street, and I'm sure many other people on this board run a harness while autoXing
