Good tutorial, links, sites for learning transmission stuff
I'm a noob and trying to learn about the internals of the transmission.
I have a JDM b18c w/lsd and need to change out the clutch before the swap and wanted to know what I'm buying and why so I can graduate to less of a noob.
Any good sites or links that explains what a clutch, flywheel, how many lbs a clutch should be, the differences, etc?
Thanks,
Jon

Buy the closest you can get to an OEM clutch while still being able to hold the power you're making with a little margin for safety. a 6 puck clutch on a stock daily driver does absolutely nothing for you besides give you a sore leg if you drive in traffic, It's also going to be hard on diffs and final drives and it's not going to last well compared to a full face organic unit.
As far as flywheels go, a lighter flywheel lets the engine rev up quicker, on the other hand it's easier to stall and the RPMs drop quicker as well. Most people will agree that a heavy OEM flywheel works better for boost though. Lightweight is more suited to NA.
