Default New trends for the Honda scene 2012/2013

what do you people feel will be the new trends hitting 2012/2013? in everything hondacura related?

The honda scene has been standstill for a while, time for the next level.

+ Things i'd like and hope to see keep going strong
+the mighty B & K series swap
+Nicely lowered cars, not hellaflushnothing un drivable destroying tires,
but clean daily driveable lowered cars.
+colored wheels
+OEM parts

-Things i'd like to see dissapear

Really some people that are in our scene, i will describe them:
they be on craigslist or H/T like f/s 1996 EK coupe (EK COUPE DOES NOT EXIST), has straight piped d15ywhatever with dc headers and JDM muffler i got at pep boys. (will not pass emissions). Has JDM Replica of the Replica poly lip. Primered JDM black, has JDM stickers, AUTOMATIC no a/c or p/s rear gutted for speed. Will trade for s2000, wrx, sti, evo. will add my kawasaki ATV if trade worth more. dont waste my time i know what its worth. (you know who you are) and you should die.

-Honda thieves- (should be stoned to death after 2 years hard labor in Afghanistan)
-JDM **** that isnt JDM
-not a big fan of the wire tuck, i like my bay full of wires and dirty.
-Rusty hoods
-RWD wheels

Whats next in our scene?
Hybrid chasis will be modded
V6 swaps more popular
EF/ WAGOVAN Restorations
2013 Acura NSX

what will you like to see go or stay? what do you hate? any ideas for the future? Post pics!

For sure the stretched tires and hellaflush stance need to die. More mods gearing towards function and one off fabrications.

id love to see more full restorations to fresh-off-the-factory specs of the older hondas. so many trashed up hondas that need to relive again in their econobox glory days.

definately, i can see restored EF's and DA's going for high dollars in 15 years kinda like muscle cars are expensive today. Theres nothing cleaner than a nicely restored EF van, hatch, sedan

and yea i think we got the hella flush stuff from the driftboys, it should die soon.

i'd most likely say staggard wheels, or something stupid with the interior.

There are so many major events going for the hella flush scene I don't think it will die. I hear about those events really more than any other events and I feel like its getting bigger and bigger every year. I'm a fan of both clean and fuction cars and for hella flush cars just as long as there not to much cambered. I've been around a lot of euro guys in the early 2000's when I introduced to the whole stretched tires look and seen it go from euro's and slowly make its way to the import scene. It's still around the euro cars and still holding strong so I couldn't see it just dying in the import world imo.

i like the flush look but lets be honest sticking a 16x8.5 or bigger and anything lower than +25 offset is just totally killing it. camber soo bad that car handles horribly haha and burn through tires like hotcakes but if u got the money then thumbs up for u. i think the perfect size for a 92-2000 civic or 92-2001 integra would be 16x8 with like a +30 to 35 offset for the flush look but no one makes rims in that size haha

***by the way i got a 90 ef sedan ex that im restoring right now.

You know which new trend I'd like to see?

Tolerance. Perhaps acceptance of other peoples preference. That would be nice

Trends come and go some stay but thats what keeps the car scene alive insted of seeing the same stuff go on. Its just the cycle. There's always a flaw in some people eyes it's just some people can't see outside the flaw in there eyes.

You serious man? You want shitty companies like APC making lame taillights and neon under-glo back? Are you forgetting LED exhaust tips and white vinyl interiors? This was the early 2000's...the birth of the Pepboy Tuner. I'll take a blog like Canibeat (and I could care less about about that scene) than some lousy car parts any day.

GT wings on street cars need to die. End that trend before it gets momentum.

I could care less what the trends are/were/will be. I've always kept my cars OEM clean looking. I like optional parts, parts from other trims/models that fit on the car. A performing drop (not slammed) nice wheels (not oversized) with really good tires.

I'm all for motor swaps if done correctly. You can have a 100% OEM car thats a beast just by staying within the honda/acura family. Currently my Civic is just a daily and will never see mods, but within the next 2 years I plan on picking up an S2K, or ITR and it will be done tastefully just as all my other cars were done.

Gee where to begin.....

Oversized turbos on stock engines, wheels bigger than 8in wide and +20 offset, sticker bombed lips, wink mirrors, the whole thing with the CL posts (lol so dead on!), punk *** teenagers who think they know everything about Hondas and don't know ****, wire tucks, bad companys selling cheap parts, H22/23 swaps in anything other than an Accord, reear window visors on civic coupes, hood propping for no good reason, wannbe Audi headlights, HID bulbs in non-projector beam headlights. Ha, I'm sure there are lots of things I forgot.

I haven't seen too much movement in the B series development except for things like Password JDM or Skunk2 dress up parts. Honda has somewhat strayed from the simple idology and there cars havent really been too tuner friendly. I applaud the K24 iVTEC in the new Si but the body styling is WAYYYYY off. I would love to see that engine in an 8th gen (I test drove one...IT HAS TORQUE!!!. Hopefully the new Acura IPX or wharever will be a hit, since most of use wont be able to afford a new NSX.

RHD conversions should also die a thousand fiery deaths.

OG restorations by far are the most fascinating to watch - especially ones done on a reasonable, realistic budget.

I would like to see more RWD conversions in the future, just to see what you could really do with our cars. It would open up a whole new genre of non S2000 Honda tuning. And I really do not like bike racks or stickers just placed one over another in a random order. Those are to me just internet fads that are stupid. Now I remember when I first saw a bike rack on an EG at a show, it was the Nopi Nationals 06' in ATL. I remember that car being very clean, not because of the bike rack though, and from that day on I knew the T-Virus had escaped. =/
