It all depends on what you want man........ how much power you want, how reliable you want it, how much you want to spend.........if you really want to do this and you have at leat a couple thousand saved up, you can IM ( Crucox - AIM)me and I can give you a game plan to go off of.......I can get you deals on custom turbos, manifolds, IC piping, intercoolers, BOVs......or just help you plan what you want and the safest way to do it.....I have build a turbo 5th gen prelude before, it was running about 550hp on full boost of 25 psi......stock motor.....all tuning...so I can make it happen.....let me know

The only time we opened the engine up was to install a thicker head gasket......everything else on the long block was stock......

25 psi and all you changed was a head gasket??? do you go to church on sudays? because seems like a miracle that you havent blown it up yet... lol... i cant figure out how you can run 25 psi on an h22a4 without touching anything other than changing to a thicker head gasket.. i thought it was impossible to run more than 8 to 10psi (maybe 12 max) on an H22a4 without sleeving, pistons, rods, etc etc... I personally would love to hear how you did it considering i am also building an h22a4 on boost and consider my self open to suggestions.. maybe there is something you know that i dont, and i would love to learn...

engine management and tuning is so so so important. not sure if that alone will get ya up to 25 psi safely, but that is so so so important to run anything. thats the first thing i would look at..

I need a deal on turbo manifold for a 96 h22

just the manifold thanks

I think it is safe to say that its damn near impossible to run 25 psi safely with stock internals... two words: Kaa Boom. lol

I also agee. Even with proper tuning the stock rods cannot hold up to the stress of 25psi of pressure. Also take into consideration the material of which the stock rods and pistons are made of.....not very stress friendly. Check out the turbo forum on preludeonline.com, there are many discussions on the H22s (even closed-deck A1's) not holding up to more than 8psi very long. The material just isn't strong enough, but....do as you will.

glad to see i aint the only one who thinks 25 psi on a stock H22 is pure lunacy... lol

This is what I just posted in another topic.....

I'm not BSing you.....he just kept increasing the boost until the wastegate was maxed out.....I haven't talked to the guy in quite while....but I was in it once when it ran at 25 psi (he previously ran it at 13 psi, then at about 18).....and when I talked to him a couple months later....he said he was barely driving it and it was running like ****.....I never said it lasted a long time.....

oh yea...and it's a closed deck block, with a t304 ball bearing

I know it shouldn't have worked...but it did......wednesday motor I guess....

I thought you built a 550hp prelude on 25 psi using stock internals.. I thought you could make it happen should we all decide that we want to run 25 psi on our ludes.. hmmmm.... starting to back pedal?? no biggie, i think its safe to assume that we all know whats up.. lol

Ever consider building your own kit?? instead of buying a greddy, or fmax? I have a base model 5th gen and i am presently building a custom turbo kit.. you might want to look into doing the same thing.. might cost you a bit more but i think its worth it. (of course my plan wont call for 25 psi on stock internals.. maybe 20 psi after building the motor from the basement up..)

yup, 25 psi on stock internals ....i have the fmax kit....it's alright but i change some parts on it....i got rid of the MF2 and 2 additional injectors, the MSD BTM, the t3/t4b turbo, and closed loop WG....i have since gotten AEM EMS, RC 440's, t3/t4e-60 trim, and open loop WG....if i would do it again, i would either get a custom kit or the Max-Rev since the Max-Rev, you can design how you want the IC piping....with the fmax manifold, i had to put an extension plate (T3 turbine flange), SPAL slimline fans, and longer studs to clear the front motor mount for the larger turbo

(as the theme to mission impossible plays in the background..) I still dont see how an H22 on stock internals got passed the 12 psi mark without blowing up.. let alone the 25 psi mark... the stock internals are no were near strong enough to endure that kind of pressure... maybe the whole thing was a dream? I know i dream of someday hitting the 25 psi mark without turning my car into honda's first rolling fireworks display...

I don't know how he ran it at 13 psi for a long time......which is past 12 psi....with no mechanical problems.....I don't know hoe he ran it at 18 psi without blowing it up...but when he said he wanted to run at that psi.....I knew it was going to take a lot of fuel if it would work and upgraded his fuels system.....it lasted.....then he turned it up to 25 psi.....I figured it would blow appart...but stil increased his fuel to match the airflow.....I wouldn't beleive it if I hadn't seen it for myself......I doubt it still runs.....but I have no idea...I am trying to say I am not lying to you......it was just a fast ******* car.....which ran with the boost guage saying 25 psi

Well either the car is a freak of nature (which is possible) or its time for a new boost gauge.. lol
