Default A few b series questions for ya.

Being new to this whole b series thing I have a few questions. I have a b16a2 short block on the way here right now. I'm trying to piece together the rest of my swap right now but have ran into a few questions.

First, what ISNT interchangable between the different b16's? Ive seen 100 different people ask if certain parts are interchangeable and all have said yes, which makes me think damn near everything is. Am I making a correct assumption?

Second, can I fit a cable b trans on my a2 that came hydro or must I get an a2 trans and hasport kit?

And lastly but kinds on the same topic as the first questions, ive read b16 blocks are all identical minus the stamp on the block. Is this true? If so I assume the answers to both of my previous questions will be yes. Just curious cause id really like to go fully obd1 on my motor so I wanna make sure everythings gonna go together without issue if i do this.

Thanks in advance for any input. Please feel free to school me with any and all b series knowledge you may have lol.

Yes, Yes, and Yes... All this information is easily found on the Google or one of the many OEM parts sites. The CTR is somewhat in its own realm - but those are EXTREMELY rare; so unless you want the information it's beyond the scope of this.

The sensors may have a couple different plugs for obd1, but everything should bolt up. I've got a b16a1 and have bought a number of parts from the 94 del sol vtec and 00 civic si with no problems. Any cable trans will bolt up to your b16a2, just get an EF B-series mount kit.

I don't mean to cop your thread man but it's related to your topic and it may even be a question you might have.......The first gen B16 is cheaper but has ten less hp than the gen 2...Same everything I know, but is it the pistons that give the gen 2 10:4:1 vs the gen 1's 10:2:1? If so, couldnt I just find some gen 2 pistons and throw it in a gen 1 to just give it that extra little something for a stock set up? I'm 99% sure I basically answered myself.....

PR3 pistons are around .2:1 compression lower then P30's... So, yes. I wish everyone would answer their own questions!!!

Awesome, and thanks for the answer guys, I googled earlier on the subject but with the search terms i used I may not have found the best sources of info lol. It led me to some old *** sites and forums that seemed to have all different and wavering opinions. And id rather get an answer from a site and guys I trust before I wasted money on parts that wouldn't work. I kinda thought I answered all my own questions with my questions lol. But I just wanted some verification.

CTR or B16B (PCT) pistons are a nice upgrade. That's what I did.
