obd2/obd1 head questions
im thinking about buying a f22a1 head from the local junkyard and was wandering if my obd2 junk is compatible on a obd1 head? will my obd2 dizzy, and fuel injectors work with this head?
Not really.
If you were buying an OBD1 F22B1 or 2 then yes. However the F22A and F22B series engines do not share the same intake or exhaust setup.
if you went with an F22A* head you would need and OBD1 F22A distributor, intake manifold, fuel rail, thermostat housing, coolant tube and exhaust manifold. The OBD2 injectors will fit the OBD1 rail though.

A non VTEC F22 ECU. One that goes with the head/cam/intake manifold that you choose to go with. Some of hte F22A* engines come with intakes that have secondary intake runners or IABs that require ECU activation to perform efficiently.
If I was going to do an F22A head swap with an intake. I would go with the F22A6 head, A6 lower runners and the H23 upper plenum and throttle body and a P13/P12 ECU.
