Default obd2/obd1 head questions

im thinking about buying a f22a1 head from the local junkyard and was wandering if my obd2 junk is compatible on a obd1 head? will my obd2 dizzy,and fuel injectors work with this head?

Not really.

If you were buying an OBD1 F22B1 or 2 then yes. However the F22A and F22B series engines do not share the same intake or exhaust setup.

if you went with an F22A* head you would need and OBD1 F22A distributor, intake manifold, fuel rail, thermostat housing, coolant tube and exhaust manifold. The OBD2 injectors will fit the OBD1 rail though.

damn there is more involved than just yanking my old head off and putting the a1 head on....ghost now once i put the a1 head what ecu should i use?

A non VTEC F22 ECU. One that goes with the head/cam/intake manifold that you choose to go with. Some of hte F22A* engines come with intakes that have secondary intake runners or IABs that require ECU activation to perform efficiently.

If I was going to do an F22A head swap with an intake. I would go with the F22A6 head, A6 lower runners and the H23 upper plenum and throttle body and a P13/P12 ECU.

ok thanks for that info now another question is what crank/rod combo do i need to build a stroker motor?

What length stroke are you looking for? 97mm 100mm 103mm?

That will determine the rod length and piston ch combo that you would require.

didnt know there was different length rods out there so im goin to say 97 or 100mills what would i need from there other than the correct size pistons and rings?
