re-drilling bolt patterns
I have a great set of BBS RS wheels that I need re-drilled to fit my FIT. The current bolt pattern is 4 x 114, naturally I need 4 x 100. I see wheels for sale here, and I ask myself how safe are these wheels once they're re-drilled. Will I lose tensile strength or compromise handling at higher speeds. Im looking for guys who own re-drilled wheels, and can lend me some help. Also what type of machine shop should I look for etc. Summer is approaching and I would love to rock these this year. Thanks in advance for any info you guys can provide
I have a set of wheels that have been filled and re-drilled. Although they're not that glamorous, they do function fine as a street wheel. However, I would never trust them on the track. Their metallurgical compound has been altered and it would always be in the back of my mind that they're not as strong as they used to be. That is, unless you had them heat-treated after they were re-drilled.

+1
Even with a plug in the old lug openings, the wheel would never be structurally strong enough to take track use or maybe even a "bad" pothole....
