S20 vs. S40
b000 is the shorter gear ratio, big bearing trans, from ex/si. I read somewhere there might be one exception in the form of hx, which has longer gear ratio. The gear ratio can be changed with aftermarket gears from mfactory or similar company.
is there any other way to know if i have a a000 or b000? i have a stock 95 eg but it didnt bring its stock tranny, the guy who sold it to me just mentioned it had a "desireable" transmission. at that time my knowledge was pretty low and didnt payed mind, now when i check the tranny for the codes it says S20 2433578 and cf5 p20 but it doesnt say a000 or b000 anywhere, last thing i hoped for was to record a video of me shifting to see if anyone with expirience can tell me if they sense the ratios and can tell me there opinion of wether it might be a b000 or the stock a000?? ive just been lost with this.
