A friend has a 92 Accord DX that they just got. It's the automatic transmission if that matters. So as they are driving it, it will just randomly cut off. It of course starts right back up. It seems like it mostly does it after driving for a while as in 20-30 miles, but it doesn't always. Sometimes it does it right away. Are there any common things to check on these cars that could cause this?

 

coil or main relay, start fine when cold?

 

Yes it seems to.

 

When it dies out, check for spark, or listen for your fuel pump clicking from the main relay.
