Default AMR's INC!

So I just ordered my AMR coilovers. I'm super excited. Props to Andy for taking the time to give me a call and go over everything in detail. He knows his stuff. I wasn't expecting him to ask what my plans/goal were for the car but I'm glad he did. Rather than me just saying "yeah I want xxx fronts and xxx rears. It's nice that some companies take the time to actually LISTEN to what their customers have to say! I've heard nothing but praise about his stuff and I'm looking forward to installing them. The 4-5 week lead time makes me sad but.....good things come to those who wait.

He seems like a good guy, we pinged emails back and forth and he helped me choose from 3 coilover brands NOT including AMR. Post pics when you get them so we can touch ourselves to them too btw.

+1!

My boss is barely capable of tying his own shoes though, so it's taking them a long time ...

Swap and/or turbo was far more expensive than the coilovers(obviously) so the swap will have to wait.

So I picked up a helms just to get a better idea of wth I'm going to have to do to uninstall my old coilovers and reinstall my new ones. I've never done if before. From the looks of it all I'll have to do is take off the tire, unscrew the flange nuts on the top where it mounts to the body, then unscrew the flange bolts connected to the coilover and the one that connects the lca to the trailing arm. Does that sound about right? Is there anything else I'll have to disconnect to get at the coilovers? I can't even lift the civic up to look because I don't have my jack atm and it's still pretty effn cold(and I have no garage atm either).

I think I remember reading something about disconnecting the break lines or something. Any help would be awesome. I'll keep searching H-T though. Thanks!

Oh and btw the waiting is KILLING me!

EDIT: You know nevermind. I found what I was looking for. GO GO SEARCH TOOL!....and a link to another site with good pics lol.

Swapping out suspension is so easy. You're going to wonder why you bought the manual once you've done it. It's literally less than a dozen nuts/bolts to remove for the entire suspension assembly once you've got the car on jackstands.

Well the suspension wasn't the only reason I got it. I also got it for when I do my cams and valvetrain. Well....IF I do my cams and valvetrain. I'm also an information junkie.

Don't sweat the install. It is incredibly easy to do. Once you jack it up you'll see.

Shocks are a cake walk, assuming the car plays nice and the bolts come out.

For the front.

2 14mm nuts on top.
1 14mm "pinch bolt"
1 17mm threw bolt, you will either need a 17mm wrench, or another rachet.
ONLY ON EG'S, you need to unbolt the brake line from the shock.

REAR-
2 14mm bolts on top.
1 14mm bolt holding shock to LCA
1 14mm bolt holding LCA to trailing arm
endlinks if you have a sway bar.

And I like to loosen the 14mm bolt holding the LCA to the subframe. The LCA will drop if you lossen it, so be ready.

This is per side.

before you dig in soak the bolts in some sort of good penitrating oil.

And it was actually Libs very post that got me to look at AMR. That and my father is a CNC machinist. When he saw what a good job they do with the lathe on the cylinders he said "if they do that good of a job on the outside imagine the workmanship on the inside where is really matters".

I'm inclined to agree.

Damn. Going on 7 weeks now... I talked with Andy though. He was in the process of a really big move to a new shop so it's understandable. And my damn tophats aren't in yet. It's all good though. I'm still super excited. Although having to drive my truck with these gas prices is making me want to club baby seals.
