Default CEL Code 14 (IACV)

So, using Pdiggittydog's stickied method of retrieveing a CEL code (paper clip in the jumper plug) is got the code 14 which is IACV.

My iacv started acting up a few months ago so, following instructions on this forum, i removed and cleaned with carb cleaner, reset my battery, and turned it on. Worked fine for a month or so and triggered the CEL again. I simply reset the battery and the car ran fine for a little while.

Now CEL are triggering more frequently accompanied by sever jerking, but when i reset the battery yet again, it drives normaly except sometimes idles at 1500rpm after fully warm and at times the idle fluctuates between 700 - 1500 and stop eventually.

I'm considering buying a new IACV but before i do, I'd like some input from those who have already experienced these symptoms to make sure my iacv even needs replacing.

Also, my main fear is that if i keep driving my vehicle like this and i end up with a complete iacv failure (if it's even possible) what kind of damage would that do to my car.

If it helps, my car is daily driven 5-speed, all stock D16y8 except headers, no power steering and kyb struts.

Please any input is helpful. Thanks

Turn the car on go to where the IACV is at pull the plug while the car is on and plug it back in, if you hear it start like a squish sound it should be working right, if not find another one and test it.

My car was throwing the same code, I took it off, cleaned it, and reset the ECU. No more codes.

Ok, I tried it a couple of times, i heard no "squish" but i did hear a slight suction of air.

Yeah i cleaned it a few months back and reset the ecu and it worked fine for a while, but now the damn thing is getting persistent. also, there should be reason that the iacv would be dirty again this soon.
