I bought one, used it for a week, decided I didn't like it.

If I had it to do over again, there's a company that makes a full shift lever that is taller. The lever alone is like ~$130 if i remember correctly.

The shift extender is probably more useful for someone doing road racing. Doing autocross I never leave second gear, so the extender wouldn't benefit me where it matters.

The best thing for you to do (if possible) is borrow someones shifter extender for a while and see if you like it. I have a Circuit Hero Type-2 shift lever extender with a Circuit Hero SS Type-2 shift **** attached to a Skunk2 dual bend short shifter in my car. I love it. I took it off once to see how driving would feel without the extender but it felt awkward after having the extender on there for so long.

Here is a link to shifter mentioned above. I have yet to try it or look into it but maybe you can:

Had one on both cheap egay short shifter and b&m short shifter and snapped them both. Next is fastline or a regular b&m with no extender.

I love my shift extender, it's all personal preference. Some people love them, some people hate them. I've gotten a few people say my extender is stupid but its pretty damn comfortable. Im running an MFactory short shifter with it.
