well doesn't look like i'll be getting my gsr back so i think i'm gonna start shopping for a car. what are ur (unbiased) opinions about the: miata, 3000gt, **gasp** firebird. I'm trying to buy a car that will be fun to drive and can be have relatively cheap while i save for a 350z or lancer evo. ur feedback will be apreciated.

Maita.. Not really practical but fun and atleast save on gas... Rearwheel drive and a good balance makes it very fun. But not to sure about Mazada quality cuz never owned on.

If you're an autocrosser or a canyon runner, miata is the way to go! They're very well balanced, easily modified and Topless ;-)

California + sunshine + convertible + canyons = FUN!

Hate to say it, perhaps even more fun than my teg. They're just different cars.

Good luck with your search... If you pick a Miata, look for a 94 sport with the LSD.

Weren't they also available w/ a 6-speed? I think it was one of their anniverisary models or something.

miata--small good potential, dont know how the convertible will be on insurance
3000gt--heavy, slow if not a turbo, gonna kill on insurance
firebird--no comment, wait the V8 maybe worth it, gas will kill so will ins.

Not to the best of my knowledge. In 94, I don't think there were any cars with 6 speeds...

Most of the miatas are available with the LSD. I don't see why people would buy one without it. Posi rear

Definitely go with the miata! 3000GT isn't worth a damn thing unless it's the VR-4...and that will kick your *** on insurance. The firebird would be fun...but i agree...would also kick your *** on insurance and gas. my first car was a miata and...i dare say...i REALLY regret ever selling it. they're the perfect small roadster for the money. mazda makes reliable cars/engines, miatas' balance is unrivaled (for the money) and having a RWD convertible is the ****. oh, and one other thing...look at the prices of aftermarket parts for them. a turbo kit for my 96 GSR uninstalled is right around $3,600 before shipping....the same kit for the miata is $1,300 before shipping. how can you beat that!?!
well damn.....now i miss my miata.
