'92 - '93 Cable YS1 LS diff will work (I think GS-R will too actually) no other cable diff will work though.

'92-'93 YS1 LS and GSR diffs are indeed the same. Only those will fit the 92-01 hydro transmissions.

If he has a ls trans, a gsr fitment will not work. as the inside diameter hole of a gsr/ctr/itr is 116.8mm accross. A b16/ls is 109.8mm accross and yes if you have a lsd of a cable and its oem, it is a viscous and a 14 bolt, it will not work. But a b16/ls cable fitment will fit into your hydro trans.

The YS1 GS-R diff is the same as a B16A/LS diff. Hydro GS-R is different. The B17A1 tranny is almost the same as a B16A tranny.
