I've been riding with jeans since I started riding (on the street) many years ago and I think it's about time I picked up some overpants especially since I'm going to be putting a ton of miles on the new bike for commuting.
Here are my only criteria:
* It has to fit easily over jeans or dress pants. The ride to work could very easily be 1 hour or more so if I have dress pants on, I want to avoid wrinkles as much as I can.
* It has to look nice.
* Price should be <$300
* Lower pant leg can't be flapping around in the wind. I no longer ride a sportbike, so my legs aren't hidden behind some big fairing. I don't have boots yet, which will help keep the pants firmer. I intend to pick up a pair soon.
I picked up a pair of Rev-It overpants from my local Ducati dealer (size 52), but it was a bit too loose around the waist, even with it all the way tight. They didn't have a smaller pair. They were nice, but I would probably like something not so "square". I'm worried that a more tighter/non-square fitting pant will wrinkle my pants like crazy.
Here's what I got, but returned.

I use Joe Rocket Alter Ego 2.0 Pants and I love them! with the flaps closed they keep you dry in light rain, they come with a rain liner for heavy rain. they have a large mesh opening on each leg for hot days.
you can get them for $180 new. They also come in tall sizes. Whatever pants you do decide on, take the zipper your jacket came with and the pants to your local tailor. should cost you no more than $12 to have it sewn in. It's well worth it!
