Default Electrical Gremlins - My Brake is an "On" switch

Hi All, I have a '90 ef sedan auto in DX trim. I need some help chasing down an electric gremlin that just popped up.

The flasher unit worked intermittently and finally failed. I have no indicator or hazard lights. I narrowed down the problem to what I think is the hazard relay and pulled it.

I drove the car for a few days no other issues while I sourced the part and now, whenever the can is "On" (not start), the brake lights go on. Whats more when I start the car and turn the switch to "Off" the car keeps running until I release the brake pedal! With no key in the ignition if I step on the brake the car goes to "On" status.

I have plugged the old flasher relay back in and its still the same. I have not found a short in any wires thus far.

Does anyone have this experience or any advice?
