Default Another gsr 6262

Hey, I'm new on this forum. Was a regular member on 8thcivic.com until my CT stage 2 FG had a bad run in with some ice. After that I decided to pick up a 98 em1. I picked up the car from another forum member (DC2rboost) original build thread https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/just-another-6262-b18c-build-2993587/. The car is currently tuned at 10lbs on chrome.

I have a couple questions

How much horse power are people finding relatively safe on the stock sleeves? (thinking ~400ish)

Who's running some type of traction bars (what brand and how big of a difference did you feel it made)

Think of a quaf LSD (opinions/suggestions?)

Anyone who want to put up builds/track times I'm happy to hear them haha (horor stories of failure are also welcome just for reference points)

Anyways glad to have the car (thanks DC2rboost) and I hope to learn a bunch here, thanks guys!

Stock GSR sleeves can handle from 400-500hp.

About 1/4mile times and everything, check out this thread:

Figured I would help you out! Normally I would recommend not buying someone elses build but I can tell he did this right and knows what he was doing. This is such and AWESOME and BADASS build and such a beautiful car! Congrats on the purchase man, seriously

The car is amazing, could believe how clean it was when I first saw it. Runs amazing, fastest car I have owned hands down, yet it's amazing how quickly what you think is fast turns into "pretty quick" lol. Only had it a few weeks and I'm already craving more. Just need to address some traction issues so that it will bite down with the added power. And I'm really wanting to get a boost by gear set up through s300, although dc2rboost was saying my apexi boost controller is boost by gear capable.

Look into falken azenis rt-615's for tires, one of the best dry grip tires out there for the street. And boost by gear is a great idea to help with traction.

What are your other future plans?

Aside from the LSD, traction bars, good tires and a retune to hit 400-450whp I just want to get a good drag season in, our local track opens in 2 weeks (weather pending). After the summer I plan on pullin the block to have it sleeved, and I'm thinking about swapping the crower cams out for some itr's, seems like people are making great power with them. Somewhere down the line when money is right I'd like to swap the coils, has a bouncy ride right now that I'm not a fan of. Also wondering what point the rc750's will run out of juice? I'm pretty sure they will work out for this summers goals until I can toss some ID1000's in.

A 6262 for just 400-450? a bit much for such medium goals, eh? Why not something a tad smaller for use? Just an idea of course.

400-450 is just a short term goal until I have the block sleeved, future plans are aiming for 550 plus. Would like to get a solid 500+ tune on pump gas, and to see what It can really do on some race fuel.

My mistake on calling it a em1 as its just a clone, since it's a dx would I be correct in it being an ej6? And I'm not sure what oil return is in it, Cant you just do a mock up with the turbo and measure what length line you will need to get a nice straight shot to the pan?

how much power are u making now?

Edit: just saw the 10 pounds so u must be around 300ish. personally if i had your setup as my own i would go get it tuned and shoot for 500hp just the way it is but thats just my opinion. theres lots of guys here making upwards of 600 on stock sleeves but the general rule is 4-500 so turn up the boost and see what she can do!

It's making 345whp right now, going or a retune here in about 5/6 weeks when it dries up some more, I think I'd be content with mid 400's for this summer, like I said my main goal is to get a full track season out of it an still have some cash reserves to deal with any issues I may run into throughout the summer. I really need to address traction issues as well, right now third tries to walk around 7k rpms and second takes some serious throttle control. That being said, I know traction bars and a diff with some sticky summer tires will really help once I up the boost a bit.
