My tachometer is pinned past the max

I didnt try bouncing the car to see if it is loose in there and just decided to give way on my last trip but I don't remember it being all the way up when I got out last time or anytime during my last trip.

I am thinking a spring gave out that holds it towards the low side.. but i never had a honda tach open so i don't know

Car runs ok i guess... didn't notice anything and i drove about 20 miles.

Didnt notice any movement in the tach as i drove

what do you guys think?

pull the cluster and remove the plastic cover .. by hand put the tach needle back to the 0 position .. ive seen dead batteries cause this to happen ( on chevys mainly when i used to work for them ) but if you put them back to 0 they would work fine .. give it a try worst case it doesnt work ..

 

i hate to crack that thing open without knowing i have a part to fix it in my hand.. all the plastic on this thing is getting old and brittle .. it is 22 years old now...

no worse case is i crack part of the dash and cant get it back together ...
Then i have a disabled vehicle that I can not drive...
after all its not a toy like many own...
its my primary vehicle for myself in a house of 2 cars.

I dont know if Chevy makes the Tachs in a CRX but maybe they do....
