1996 Prelude interchangeability
I am good friends with a user on here (draggbody) and he has sucked me into your import world..so here goes.
I just bought a 96 prelude. It was very cheap and needs some transmission work. My plan is to get it running and start saving some gas $. For now, the more stock the better for reliability.
I havent found alot of preludes in the local junk yards and I need some parts:
Are any seats interchangeable? (years? models? Acura seats fit?)
Wheels...I assume from looking on here that any 4 lug wheels of similar years will fit?
Where do you guys like to buy cheap replacement parts? (carpet kits? various replacement interior parts?)

I dont know of anyone who sells carpet kits(Im sure there is someone who does) but as far as interior pieces go there isnt much that will fit, at least without modification. Craigslist will be your best bet for finding replacement interior pieces as well as everything else, and if you check the classified section here Im sure you can also find what you need. If you live near Indianapolis I have a full set of seats that will fit.
As far as wheels go you can find quite abit in junkyards from various manufactures', I believe the bolt patent is 4*114 which corresponds with Hondas larger cars, accord, prelude, older legends, and Mabey older tl, and Im sure Toyota and Nissan has a bunch of options too.

Prelude don't usually get amazing gas mileage, but it should be pretty good at about 25-28 highway.
Any seat can be made to fit, but common swaps are for the S2000 seats.
Cheap replacement parts are not usually a good idea as the poor quality just isn't worth the
minimal savings. The best bet is looking on eBay, Craigslist and junkyards for used stuff in good shape. What are you looking for exactly? I recently redid my whole interior and was able to find anything I needed from those places. Pick-n-pull has an online inventory that helps out a lot
4-lug wheels are 4 x 114.3, so anything with that bolt pattern will fit...aftermarket or OEM from most any manufacturer.

Better than my 3500 dodge or my diesel excursion

I need some new seats, carpet, and various plastic interior parts that have cracked

I'm in Charlotte, NC and I have a plethora of extra stuff, can you be briefly specific about what you need. Also if your interested in the trip there is a Honda only junk yard here called Beaver's that I got an entire interior for my 95 prelude. They are a little pricey but you can almost guarantee they will have what you want.
