98 Coupe - rear trailing arm bushings
Mine are shot. For a point of reference I called 2 shops - they want about $550 with a 4 wheel alignment for this job. How much of a chore is this? I looked at Bernaldi Honda for the parts, but they seemed to show just the entire arm for $275 each side!?

You can buy just the bushings from Honda, I'll try to find the part number for you after. I've replaced them before, it's not all that hard as long as all the bolts come out ok.
Get you hands on one of these it's SOOOO EASY!

Not a bad idea. Don't know if you remember, but a guy tried to do that here a while back. Yeah, his thread was locked quick.
Either way, buying the tool and doing the job yourself is still cheaper than having a shop do it.

I remember. If I decide to do it I'll post up in the Marketplace as a service. Even if I get to takers I have 2 cars that I have to use this on so in any case it's worth it.

I saw a writeup on PWDJDM or honda tuning tech area.. i cant remember..
Prob PWDJDMs site since they sell the spherical ones.
But hardrace makes a good set as well and would look to them over OEM as OEM is softer.

i just changed mine out a month ago, and I rented the tool from a member on here.... if you dont have the tool, then you have to pull the whole trailing arm off, and use a press to press the bushings in and out... if you use the tool, you just have to unbolt the shock through bolt, camber bolt, toe arm bolt, and TA bushing bolts, and you can press them out with the arm still in the car.... you just gotta make sure that you put the bushing and tool on straight, cause when i did the first side, I bent the bushing pressing it in, and had to buy one new.... pretty easy job with the tool, and a major difference in the rear end.... you'll actually be able to take corners without feeling like your rear end is gonna fall apart!
I did this with a 93 civic, used the tool several times (I pushed the old ones out and the new ones in on the drum brakes) Fairly simple it was about 30$ a side for OEM rubber ones plus I bought the tool for 100, sold it for 100$ (ebay is your friend). Rear end no longer thunks when I drop off curbs and the what not. To make life a little easier I stuck the bushings in the freezer over 2 nites, IMO made them easier to shove in there, but it was still a small ordeal even with the tool.
