ECHC Tech this Weekend - Important
Since we are the 2nd group out Saturday morning, it's going to be VERY important that everyone is cooperative in helping us get the tech stickers and arm bands distributed as early as possible.
I will be there as early as I can be on Friday evening, but since I'm coming up from Atlanta, through NASCARville, there are no guarantees. Is there anyone who plans to be at the track relatively early Friday night willing to help out with this?
The procedure is simple...
1. Bring your completed tech sheet, logbook, and comp license to the tech person (me or whoever volunteers).
2. Tech person signs logbook, checks license, and collects tech sheet
3. Tech person supplies arm band and tech sticker
4. When finished, tech person turns in completed tech sheets and unclaimed arm bands to NASA tech person.
It's that simple. Remember that you are responsible for teching your own car. NASA just wants the documentation stating that you did such.
If you don't get your tech completed friday evening, you'd better be there EARLY Saturday morning making sure you get this done. Don't wait until Karl and I are buckled into our cars for practice to come running up trying to get your tech sticker. I promise that you will be SOL and will miss practice.
Again... Any ECHC volunteer (preferably someone that pretty much knows all the ECHC racers) planning to definately be there early Friday evening and saturday morning... Help would be appreciated. The task is a simple one, but it can be time consuming.
Scott, who besides having to unload his car and do the usual ECHC pre-event stuff, also has to bolt on his new pimpy splitter.

Scott, you posted before I could get a hold of you. Ron Spencer has stepped up and volunteered to take this work item. David Rhodes did too, but Ron got to me first.
Everybody, this is important. Ron is camping, and will be at the track Friday night. So let's try and get as many of these done as possible Friday night. Ron says feel free to stop by his paddock location - on the "farthest from the pit straight" part of the ECHC paddock area, or directly across in the grassy area near the pond. Ron drives a blue and white H4 Civic hatchback and will be towing with either a Crown Vic or a Suburban. I think you all know him (commonly seen instructing in classroom at DEs).
Also important is to note that Ron and David both kick *** and are automatically guaranteed a great weekend by volunteering within like a couple hours of me sending an email.

And there you have it.
Karl, can you make sure the captain is familiar with the procedure?
I'll let JJ and Elyse know to release the armbands and tech stickers to Ron.

Since I am new I don't do the tech for myself right? I know I fill out the tech sheet and make sure everything is in order but, I need to make arrangements to have someone look over my car right? Who would this someone be?

Bobbie???

I think you will need the NASA folks to do an anual tech and logbook your car prior to you seeing Ron. At least I had to get an annual tech/logbook at CMP, so I assume it's the same for VIR if it's your first race. Which makes sense since you have to have your logbook when you go see Ron.
Don't know his name but I believe he's somehow related to the Politti crowd. I know, try not to be too surprised.
You can find whoever is doing them this weekend in tech on Saturday AM.

Since I am still car-less I will be working all weekend. Scott/Karl - let me know if you want me to handle any of this. I will most likely be doing grid or pit out but I can certainly help out with this stuff as well.
Sorry, I forgot we had one new person.
You will have to get an annual tech from the NASA tech person. He will likely be hanging around the tech shed Friday evening and Saturday morning.
I'm not sure who it will be this weekend. The Supps list Rich Mitchum.
You'll still need to see Ron to get your armband.
