Battery relocate :D
firstly, ill say I know how to use the search option and I have been all damn morning andsimply put... I dont own a crx and 3/4ths the damn results are asking what im about to with very few or rather over simple answers that dont hit the question.
Ok Im looking into moving my battery, to free up some much needed space under the hood for my turbo setup. So here are my questions.
1.wire choice, is 2gauge any less effective then 0gauge. Iv read in a few posts that depending on your electrical draw yes, I dont run car audio and I have all stock electrical, also what type is best Iv also read that it needs to be battery rated or some bs wire... (to hold the constant power)
2.Iv read alot of different ways to run the wire... Cant I just disconnect my current battery. take off both the + and - current terminal connectors. (obviously keep the ground grounded in the bay) but then just connect the positive to the new positive wire, run it to the trunk then just make up a new ground wire and connect that from the terminal to the chasis.
3. I no to put it in a battery box, even though its a optima red top (no im not going to be using car audio so it should be just fine)
lastly, while doing this. do i need upgrade all the wires for alt, starter etc. cause all im trying to do is move the damn thing to the trunk.

1. if you want "the best" then 0 gauge is just that. However, I usually suggest using 1 gauge wires.
2. Yes you can do it that way. Just make sure that the ground has a good clean (no paint) connection to the chassis.
3. The Optima red top should be good to go.... If that was your question?
lastly. If you want to upgrade. Now would be a good time to replace them if you were having any sort of dimming or electrical power drop issues. However, it is not absolutely necessary just becuase you moved the battery.

Again thanks Ghost! I have some 0gauge wire from an amp kit that im not using anymore will that be able to work sufficently enough? or do I need that certain battery rated wire. also after this in the next few dats ill be doing the dual core half rad so ill be most likely askin ya a few questions on it :D
What brand wire is it? Not that it really matters when using 0 gauge. As long as your wire has a good amount of shielding on it you should be good to go. The cheaper, thinly shielded, wires could cause some interference issues.
Any questions you have don't hesitate to ask. If you PM me I will probably be more apt to respond faster. I am working on the road these days. so I don't sign on as much as I used to......

o lastly, do I need to put a fuse in the actual power cable, iv read to do so just cause incase in grounds it self out. I have a 100amp fuse I can put in it but not super sure.

If you don't want to mount the battery in the trunk. There is enough room to mount the battery below the headlight in the passenger side fender well. You just need to create a mount for it.
