Default bad hood or bent frame?

I got a new hood in today to fix the damage from an accadet a month or so ago... heres what it looked like...

I pull the old one off and drop on a new carbonfiber hood and its WAY off... it wont fully latch ad the side that had damage looks horrible... now the passenger side lines up fairly well.... pics:

Thoughts? any way for me to tell? or does it need to be taken a body shop for me to know anything

Pull the bumper off and take a very good look at the coresupport.

Also, 9 times out of 10 carbon fiber stuff lines up like complete ***.

Agreed! It's better just to go oem and a hell of alot cheaper. If I was u sell the hood and buy fender and a hood.

Usually there is some sort of slot or larger hole where it bolts(at hood or hinge) for slight adjustment u might be able to pull it forward or move the hood latch down to compensate for the gap but no promises.

You can adjust the hinge on the car. At least I can.

In some cases (mine) you have to make the holes bigger. I did, but my support is bent.

But! If the old hood came off without that much discrepancy in fitment, even with that small dent, the new one shouldn't be off THAT much. That's my thought process anyway.

Try this loosen up the fender bolts And try pushing the from towards the direction of the hood and tighten it might move the fender and the hood closer. And for the front lower the rubber hood stoppers

I've got a CF hood on my 98 EX and I hate it.. doesn't line up at all. Looks just like yours does, huge gap on one side and flush on the other.

been a while, but Though i would update...
Had a buddy come over to look at it. Turns out, where it got hit, the core support was bent in a good inch, inch and a half. Hes got a buddy that owns a body show and they let us barrow a frame clamp... that with a come-along and a concrete pole, i was able to pull it back to almost straight... could have got it perfect, but i was afraid of pulling it too far. Also, somthing that was keepign the hood from latching, was the hole around the latch hook wasnt quite big enough but i fixed that with a dremel in about 30 sec.... heres the after pic

Look liek it was slightly bent before, because the driver side headlight fits better than it ever has.

Is the hood used? Looks like *** like it looks like a chunk is messed up in the front and in the last pick it looks sun killed.... I would never get another carbon fiber exterior thing. My top is cf and the Damn thing fits but its sun killed and the carbon fiber is starting to show like the protective top coat is like cracking a little bit and looks like ***

no, its new... one of the spots you are seeing is there a bit of a wave in the cf weave, its actually not as noticeable as it in is the pic.... and what do you mean by "sun killed"?

Good job on fixing it but if ur core support is bent that means front rails and aprons have been damaged as well. So bent frame to answer the question.

it was liek a 5mph or less hit and it still drives straight. Its not liek the impact was spread across the whole frontend, it was just that one little spot. Its the guys reece hitch that hit.
