So I recently did a b16a2 swap in my 99 ek hatch. I have already done most of the tucking and deleting of the extra stuff in the bay. BUT i want to try and make my engine harness as simple as possible within my daily driver range.
So my dilema is that i want to try and remove all extra wiring from the engine harness that is not need or that can be removed safely (i.e that it wont f**k up how my engine runs). I wanna remove all the wires pertaining to the EVAP, powersteering, and secondary O2 sensors, and anything else that I'm not current running).
Now I haven't went through the harness end to end to see what all wires are integrated into others, but I wanted to see if anyone knows if I can just remove the above mentioned wires directly from the plugs at the ecu and not hurt anything. For instance I removed the evap solenoid plut and it didn't seem to affect anything. I got a pinout and wanted to go through everything tonight and remove the rest of the clutter. Well, let me know what you guys know.

haha, well then I guess that settles that. Im goin to go through the wiring scimatics a little more in my haynes manual. Thanks for keepin what ya know to yourself. I'm sure it was probably the best thing to do. haha
Have you/ Are you planning to convert to obd1? You can lose a few things if you are.
Honestly, I prefer to DIY everything, and I recently built a harness for myself, but its f'ing time consuming if you want it to come out nice. I'll never do it again, I'd rather just pay rywire.

Okay i could help help you out
If your serious about re doing your harness learn how to read a wiring diagram from the helms or haynes and start from there.its the easiest way and remove tof hings from the diagram and than your harness. Is the car tuned or stock ecu?
Do you know how to solder?

Nothing in the harness is that sensitive to resistance. Just don't wad it up with solder joints.
Keep the shielded wires shielded. Those are where you need to use some care.
