Battle of the Imports in NC
Not many Pros attend the Battle anymore as they only pay winner and runner up. If you plan on attending and running in the street classes make sure you have full exhausts with you and full front interior and leave extra time to go through tech as the Battle guys look at everything to make sure they get you in the right class. Tech will take longer at Battle then any other event you attend.
Back to the Pros, You can expect Paul Effantis with the 8.8 second Supra, Inline Pro with Civic hatches in All motor and Pro Import. Also, Norris Prayontano, Sean Hillier and a few others in the All motor class. Norris and Sean should be running 10's. There is an IDRC event in Arizona this weekend so I believe they will draw the bigger names. To be honest though you never know who will show up. I think Jen Williams will be there as well. There are some good battles in the Street classes with the turbo 4's and the hybrid cars as there are a few of them that are very close to each other and there is some awesome races with staging duels and everything. Much more interesting then the Pro classes if you ask me. Keep an eye on Jason Hunt(turbo 4, low 10's) and Charlie Schaeffer(all motor, 12.0's) and any Inline Pro car as they all battle against each other in their respective classes. Inline has been trying to get Jason all year and Charlie was a force to reckon with at the event in Virginia when he just barely missed be the first to run 11's in his class. I think with the right conditions Charlie can hit an 11 and Jason may break into the 9's. You never know what Inline will have up their sleeves and whatever it is I am sure Jason will be ready to counter.
I will not be there as I am going to the event in Pittsburgh, no money for me at Battle running against the tube frame all motor cars.
