Default Always something broken at the last minute

I hate cars.

My water pump on my M3 appears to have gone to the *******. Apparently it didn't like getting flogged around Summit the last 2 days. Oh well. Assuming I can find one tomorrow, I'll have it fixed and ready to go, barely in time as usual.

On the bright side, it looks super easy to replace.

This also goes against your "can't have two working cars" theory. Hope you get it running.

I'm starting to feel guilty. All my bad karma is spreading across the east coast. Good luck getting your chit fixed man.

well tonight i mounted new wheels (falkens are a bitch), changed oil, cam cover gasket and put my new harness belts in tonight. Inspected the car (found i owned a plastic POS - nothing out of the ordinary). I think i'm safe.... :knock on wood:

I had two lists... the "have to do" and the "would be nice"... it appears that I'm going to have to take a day off work just to finish the "have to do"...

Just a water pump?? Easy. At least it wasnt something bad.

After the dyno session on Friday... I will be 100% for the wkend. Well... minus decent shocks/springs.

I can't believe this is happening.

Kamin was right. Should have been a super easy R&R. I picked up the car from the shop and the tech mentioned that the temp was sitting rock solid at middle. Sure was when I left.

I was less than a mile from home when I blipped for a heel & toe, and all the indicator lights came on. WTF. I did it again as I turned onto my street, and this time I noticed the temp climbing fast. I cut the throttle and popped the hood and coasted down to the end of the street. ****. I could hear coolant boiling, and the temp climbed to red after the car was off. The water pump pulley is completely loose. Not a single bolt is in it...

I am so ******* pissed off right now. Now there's a real possiblity that the head is warped, or the head gasket is toast. That is a $2000 fix on an E30 M3. I kid you not. The owner and I are friends, so we will be testing that friendship the coming days.

Oh, to make matters even more fun. The car is sitting about 100 yards from my house. Blocking someone else's driveway, and I can't ****** reach anyone to help me push the car.

Well, now my bad news. I totally killed my rear passenger brake pad and one of the bolts to the caliper is seized on!! Looks like I had killed the caliper earlier on from a track event (too much heat?) so that's why the pad is 100% gone. I'm also stripping the damn bolt trying to remove it.....

Victor - bring the Civic!

Warren - I'd let you drive the RX-7, but I doubt you'd get any H-C points.

Replaced from rotors last night and bled brakes and I still couldn't get a consistent pedal feel on the way to work, and I even thought I heard odd noises coming from the front.

Don't panic.

ITR brakes always take a bit to settle down after you bleed them. You really need to bleed them a few days before an event, not the day of the event.

You'll probably be OK, but we can help you on site get a better bleed, if necessary.

People are always bleeding ITR brakes too violently, too. Best results are with a slow pedal and slow stream out the bleeder.
George, where will you be in the paddock? I may take you up on your offer!

Race cars **** me off..
last week we are getting our car ready for tech...
which involves removing valve cover, carburator, the rockers and push rods from a cylinder and a sparkplug.
Upon removal of the valve cover.. 2 broken roller rockers, so we checked the other head and found 3 more broken rockers (fuggin rules state you must run company xyz roller rockers part#123 or stock rockers. basically not allowed to run crower)
So now we have to haul ***.. replace rockers and adjust them before tech closes
