Icon6 O2 Sensor issue

I have a 92 dx hatch and I just dropped a 95 vtec-e 1.5 motor into it. I still have the stock ecu. Two questions: First, my ecu says that I have a bad O2 sensor, but I just replaced it not too long ago. I use a Bosch O2 sensor. It now runs in lag mode and I can't go above 85. I have been hearing that there has been problems with the Bosch sensors. Could there be a problem with the ecu instead and how do I tell? Second, I heard that the vtec can be turned on by wiring it to the existing ecu. I have a guy that says he can do it. Should I go that route or replace the ecu. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also can I bypass lag mode?
