I have a 2008 Accord V6 with a check engine light ON, I know it misfires once in a blue moon when I push it hard. Im almost certain its a misfire code, but dont have the luxury of a scan tool. Can anyone school me on how to get the ECU to blink the codes for me and how to read the blinks, once I get the codes I can take it from there.

On my 03, I can short the number 4 and 9 pins (on the DLC), and the check engine light, and SRS light will blink the codes. Don't know if it will work on your 8th gen. I can also get body codes to display in the odometer, by shorting the connector in the under dash fuse box.

 

If you are in California, most places scan for free.

 

hmmm, thanks but I tried that method and it didnt work so im not sure it applies to 8th gens. and yes most places do scan for free in the states but Im all the way in Nigeria, Africa by the way. If I was still in the states it wouldnt be an issue at all. any 8th Gen owners in the forum?
