Default DOHC ZC Hood Clearance

Trying to figure out what hood to get. I was looking at the seibon carbon fiber evolution hood. Question is other than the ugly jdm zc hood anybody know any other hood that will fit. No I don't have the original anymore

Any oem hood will work, you might have to trim the webbing a bit for the valve cover though

I have a DOHC ZC in my 90 hatch with a OEM hood and I have no problems with clearance.

^^ What he said, DOHC ZC in my 89 hatch, no shimming, no trimming, nothing. Fits just fine.

Yep, same here. Just removed the webbing a bit, and was good to go. I'm not sure why the ZC hood is ugly, though. It's just a baby bump.

For real I personally like the zc hood look. How are your guys hoods closing with a zc? The only way I could close it was with taking off the upper timing belt cover , but I didnt like that so I trimmed the webbing. You could also get the mad jdm hood tilt to match your mad tyte jdm zc.

^ That's how I had mine, no timing belt cover. Engine came that way so I never had any idea that I was missing something at first. almost 8 years later, I scored the missing timing belt cover and hood...then engine blew up. Never got to use the cover LOL

Where do you even find a ZC hood? I just Googled it and I had never seen one before.

You can always get the carbon fiber hood that's fits a USDM front end, but is made with a raised center like the JDM hood

ebay's about it for a zc hood, or classifieds here, thezcr.com, crx community, etc. Or you can get a VIS or Seibon cf zc hood, though in a bit of irony, the "bump" on theirs is just an add-on to their normal cf hood, so you get no additional clearance.

si-r's right - that's the one cf hood that actually makes sense, though a zc cf hood would not have webbing, so it should fit fine too (as would a "normal" crx hood).
