Default cusco master cylinder brace & front strut tower brace (dialuppers beware: your machine may crash!!!

The tower brace bolted right up. The welds are nice and the finish is very similar to (but slightly darker than) spoon calipers...

Next up was the cusco brake master cylinder brace. It is made for a right-hand-drive (jdm) dc2, so it required a little modification. I compared it to where the instructions say to go (on the right side for rhd vehicles) to see how the fitment is... Next, I simply turned it 180 degrees clockwise (or counterclockwise) and checked fitment...

Your options with this piece are to bend the brake line coming out of the master cylinder on the usdm/ lhd dc2 (which I wasn't comfortable doing) OR notching out the brace - which is a risky thing if you're a pioneer...

I marked, measured, and took off a little at a time...

It turned out pretty good:

BIG BIG to Leo aka ITRinEJ for the proddy, kengs for the jdm influcence, and AssPenny for the hosting and pic size reduction (when he reads this thread).

Why did you get the cusco tower bar? what's wrong with the stock one? is it not sturdy/rigid enough? and they both mount in the same location....

The MC tends to move when you mash the brakes. Bracing it improves brake feel ( it gets firmer).

so with a brace and stainless steel lines, everything should feel nice and firm?

Cusco brace is definately SWEET. I like how you cut the brace versus re-molding the lines.

The Booster expands slightly (as much as 3mm on some models) when the air valve opens (brake pedal depressed) to inlet high pressure into the primary chamber.

Could you do me a favor and get a close-up of the MC brace? I wanna see the detail a little more than what you've got.

Looks pretty good, first I've seen that mounts to the a-arm bolts. I like that idea! <goes to drawing board and starts thinking...>

A favorite of mine was a Mugen front bar that connected to the body and had a drop down arm that connected to one of the strut bolts.
I have not seen one of those in a looong time tho!

too bad the cusco stuff rusts after awhile( the bolt on the strut tower) and the m/c brace metal is way too thin compared to others like the drive system. plus that small bolt that pushes up against the m/c and i dont think cutting it helped. but all that matters is that your happy

Nice job! Although its so much simpler on a RHD ITR...i had mine fitted in about 10 minutes. I noticed a definite improvement in brake feel although i wasnt sure if that was a placebo effect so i unbolted it and went out for a drive, stopped and screwed it back in again and the difference is definitely noticeable, the pedal felt a lot more firmer and there was less travel in it while braking.
